About

Ian Williams is an artist and maker based in Rochester, New York. With a degree in Sculpture from Rhode Island School of Design, Ian has developed a unique perspective on the creation and fabrication of art.

Ian's work as an exhibit fabricator has been seen in many renowned institutions, including the American Museum of Natural History, Nike World Headquarters, the Providence Children's Museum, the RISD museum, Rhode Island College, and the Dubai Museum of the Future. This work has allowed him to hone his skills in creating large-scale installations, while also giving him a broad understanding of materials and techniques.

Ian's love of stonework began with a visit to Storm King Sculpture Park, where he was inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworthy. In 2016, he had the opportunity to work with traditional marble stone carver Dario Tazzioli in Tuscany, Italy, where he assisted in the hand-carving of marble and sandstone sculptures, as well as custom architectural features. This experience deepened Ian's appreciation for the beauty and potential of natural materials.

Through his work, Ian seeks to push the boundaries of what is possible with sculpture and construction. His art is characterized by a dedication to craftsmanship, a reverence for materials, and a desire to create works that are both beautiful and meaningful. Whether working on a large-scale installation or a small-scale sculpture, Lo Farò Stonework brings a meticulous attention to detail and a deep appreciation for the art of making to every project.
